Only 22% of Americans believe college is still worth the cost if someone has to take out loans to afford it. Forbes reviewed 500 U.S. colleges for their annual list of America’s Top Colleges and the estimated median pay 10 years after graduation.

The number one driver for college students is the return on investment for their college degree yet as many as 1 in 3 bachelor's degree programs may have a negative return on investment. As college costs outpace inflation, students are looking for college alternatives, like certificates or trade schools. A Self Financial study estimates the average college cost for a four-year student in America has grown to $307,658.
