Average Marriage Age In America
By age 40, 25% of Americans have never married. Overall, Americans are marrying older and older; with men marrying at an average age of 30 and women marrying at an average age of 28 in 2024, according to Forbes. When looking at the average marrying age by state, people marry youngest in Utah (25.8 years old) and individuals marry latest in Massachusetts (31.3 years old).
Unveiling The Top Reason for Divorces
Since peaking in the late 1970s to early 1980s, divorce rates per capita (rate per 1,000 in the U.S. population) have declined every year as Americans marry later, or not at all. Only 4% of couples married at least 10 years will ever divorce. Even among divorcees, a whopping 95% of individuals believe their marriage could have been saved.
